Project Description:

Like many of today’s ferry operators Stena Line operates some routes with reduced speed and reduced number of engines. Taking advantage of this, we fitted the relevant pumps with speed control for reduced power.
This is what the project entailed:
Installation of frequency drives for SW pumps with temperature control
Installation of frequency drives for all LT pumps
Installation of frequency drives for all HT pumps
Installation of shut-off valves for the LT and HT lines on the main engines
Speed control by temperature and by number of engines running.

Contents:

  • 10 new frequency drives
  • New PLC cabinet with valve control and speed control
  • Pressure & temperature sensors
  • New HMI for the engine control room
